In this episode I chat and laugh with Camir Ricketts about his journey from Jamaica, Atlanta to New York and all the work he is doing now.

Camir is a PhD candidate in Computational Biology and Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York where studies cancer genomics. He is also the founder of the MindsOf Initiative which launched their ‘Minds Of Jamaica’ mentorship platform in 2019. Minds Of Jamaica provides access to career mentorship for Jamaicans across the island.

Camir is also recipient of the Prime Minister Jamaica’s Youth Award for Excellence in 2018. With a passion to share his story and his work with others, Camir has given talks at the University of the West Indies, as well as various conferences in the USA and Europe.
